Welcome! Ïðèâ³ò! Bienvenue! Welcome to my Ukrainian Football Travel Diaries. Being a Canadian of Ukrainian extraction, I naturally have a hearty interest in matters Ukrainian, and after living in England for three years, I gained an appreciation for soccer, or more properly, football. It did not take long for these two interests to merge, especially when Ukraine played in it's first World Cup qualifying tournament for the Finals in France '98! I managed to attend three matches and have chronicled those adventures here. Starting September 5th, 1998, Ukraine began the qualifying campaign for the European Championships 2000, the finals of which will be held in Belgium and the Netherlands. The first match was the historic first-ever meeting of Ukraine and Russia in football at the senior international level. I attended a series of matches in this tournament as well and we're now into the World Cup 2002 tournament as well!
